Call to BIPOC and LGBTQ+ Artists
Interactive Interdisciplinary Art Installation Focused on Community Resilience and Sustainability

Overview
We are seeking artists, designers, and creators from distinct disciplines to create an interactive, interdisciplinary art installation focused on themes of community resilience, sustainability, and entrepreneurship. This project aims to inspire, educate, and engage the public in meaningful dialogue about how marginalized communities can thrive in the face of environmental, social, and economic challenges.
Project Vision
Our vision is to encourage collaboration between disparate artists in creating a dynamic and immersive art installation that explores innovative solutions, community stories, and artistic interpretations of resilience and sustainability. We encourage artists to think beyond traditional boundaries and incorporate interactive elements that engage audiences in creative, thought-provoking ways.
Who Should Apply
Applications must include collaboration by a minimum of two artists from distinct disciplines (think ballet and graffiti, for example). At least one of the applicants must be BIPOC or LGBTQ+, and at least one artist must reside in the state of Florida.
We welcome applications from artists of all backgrounds, including but not limited to:

Please note: All artists participating in the project must attend the Creative Nexus Summit, where the installation will be previewed at the Creative Nexus Youth Summit on April 26, 2025, and finalized for presentation at the Creative Nexus Summit on May 16-17, 2025.

Submission Requirements

Proposal: A brief description (500 words max) of your proposed work and how it addresses the themes of community resilience and sustainability.

Interactive Element: Describe how your work will engage the audience interactively.

Visuals: Up to 5 images or sketches of proposed work, past works, or concepts.

Bio/Resume: Include a short bio and resume highlighting relevant experience of each applicant. At least one of the applicants must be BIPOC or LGBTQ+.

Collaborative Potential: If applicable, describe your interest in collaborating with other artists or disciplines.
Selection Process
Proposals will be evaluated based on creativity, thematic relevance, feasibility, and audience engagement. Selected artists will receive a $5000 stipend to bring their projects to life.
